We'll be getting the details out soon but the schedule is looking like...

- Philadelphia September 19

- Portland, OR October 23-24

- Sarasota FL November 14

Note:

* CEU's provided by the NCCAOM. The Portland workshop also provides California CEU's, while Sarasota also provides Florida CEU's.

* For more information about the workshops, such as the difference between the one and two day workshops and to sign up go to the WCA website:

What is the difference between the one day and two day workshops?

One day workshops are one day affairs where WCA (Lisa Rohleder and Skip Van Meter) comes to you.  Topics covered:

1) Fundamental definition of Community Acupuncture

2) Class and Classism in Acupuncture marketing

3) Basic systems of Community Acupuncture

4) Jingei pulse diagnosis.

Prices for these workshops:  Sliding scale of $75-200.

The two-day workshop is similar to the one day workshops. They cover the same range of topics as the one day workshops but is more comprehensive. How to put it... the one day workshops are jam-packed with info. The two-day workshop gives you more time to reflect about the info, interact with the WCA folks, and ask more questions. The two day workshops also include:

- a Community Acupuncturist Practitioner Panel (here how it's done from people who've done it- not just WCA.

- the Famous Clinic Simulation exercise (prove to yourself that you really can treat six people an hour-or more).

We can't wait!

Honolulu!!!

You may need some help on that one.  Don't hesitate to ask.

Chicago

is the "possibly" because you aren't sure about July, or because you aren't sure that you wouldn't rather come to Detroit?  ;^)

(And yes, that *is* an offer to put you up, find a place for the class, let you use the clinic, feed you and buy you drinks, take Lisa out Karaoke-ing to Lady Gaga, etc.)

WCA stands for...

Working class acupuncture? world community...

Yes

Sorry to be late in answering you. Yes, WCA= Working Class Acupuncture, a clinic in Portland that sees 500+ patients a week in its two locations.

Annual Tour T-Shirts.

Seriously.  List of cities that you're giving workshops at on the back.  Red fist logo on the front.  Total collectors item.  End-of-year leftovers could be promotional giveaways...

Can't make it to Portland in May?

That's just two months away!

Training

Skip, Is the N.H. training one or two days? You have it listed as one day on the WCA site, but two days here. Thanks, Mary

Oops.

NH is just one day. That's the short answer and I will change the listing here to reflect that.

The longer answer is that NH will have two different workshops. The standard workshop is one day, on Saturday. That's the same one day workshop we normally do.

Then on DSunday we will be trying out a new workshop which has a working title of Level 2. That's for already established  CA practices to focus on their growth and the issues they have with that. We hope to expand to do more Level 2 workshops in the future.

Yahoo for Level 2!

As much as I'd like to visit NH - I truly mean that - I'm very eager for this fabled Level 2 Workshop to happen out here on the left coast.  BAP is ready to host another workshop anytime you are ready to lead one!

I think it would be fun to raise some funds (bakesales, carwashes?) to bring out some of the east coast CA masters to our neck of the woods so they can share their wisdom.

and it would be super fun to finally meet them, too!  You know who you are!  (and if you even think you are who I am referring to, then you are right).

Julia in Berkeley

oh, oh!

lightbulb moment.  Level 2 for BigAss Clnics; Level 2 for Smaller Clinics and Level 2 for Solo Clinics.

You guys have a LOT of workshops on your plate suddenly!

We hope to be in Berkeley in December. Keep the tea water warm!

Skip and Andy is you are checking this...

I would like to get CEU's for the class this summer in NH.  But what I really would like to do is have everyone who are already in practice to be able to share their stories of success/failure.  Some nuts and bolts and various options should be able to float freely around the room (except of course hybrids...totally off the table).  A workshop where someone is "teaching" how to do a CA is at this point unnecessary for those of us in practice.  But having the chance to talk out clinic growth issues with others would be great even if a solution is not apparent.

Seeking info about NH workshop!

Please point me in the direction of the information about the level 2 workshop in NH this summer! Many thanks...

Student considering one day workshop

Thought I'd ask some of you who have attended the 1 day workshop to post your thoughts here for myself, fellow students & licensed practitioners in the area considering the one day workshops this fall. Thanks in advance.

I got a lot out of the one-day workshop

Of course, I had already done a lot of research going into it, had already visited several CAP's, and read a lot of the material in the forums.

I thought I understood what CA was about when I went to the workshop, but in the first couple of hours I was shocked out of my complacency and began to learn on another level entirely.

I don't think you can ask for too much more from a one-day workshop that proposes to teach you a whole new way of practicing - and delivers.
