getting closer
I am slightly late with this posting, but I have a good excuse – I have been hard at work on planning a new CAP! It has been a difficult few months as we were figuring out partnership relationships and trying to fit pieces of the plan together. At the same time my current part-time CAP (temporarily operating out of Berkeley Community Acupuncture space – thanks to Thuy) has grown hugely. As of January I added a second day / week because my one day per week was maxed out for weeks ahead. Now, 4 weeks later, the second day is maxed out too (and it’s a weekday morning shift)! The writing is on the wall, folks.
So here is where we are: after some difficult but important communication, I parted ways with one of my two potential business partners at the beginning of this year. I feel that it was absolutely the right decision for all involved. After this, I and my remaining partner, Pam Chang (of the Yes! magazine fame) synched up so incredibly well that things moved forward with amazing speed. Drum roll…. This afternoon we signed a lease on our very own new space in Albany, CA, only a 15-minute walk from where I live. It is 803 square feet, it’s a little storefront in a modest (or perhaps slightly dumpy) little shopping center. We expect to open our new clinic in about 1 month, give or take a week or so. We are naming it Sarana Community Acupuncture. (sarana – Pali word for refuge). Today we looked at paint chips and brainstormed about the layout. We have much work to do in these next few weeks, but I am joyfully looking forward it. I also feel that if I had not gone through the drawn out process of figuring out who I really wanted my partner to be, I could not have arrived to the clarity of this moment. More details soon...I need my sleep.

Sending vibes of abundance your way.
Re: getting closer
Yay for you, Tatyana! And for you, too, Pam! Your clinic is going to be AWESOME. I've seen the spot and I loved it. Couple that with a fabulous herbalist/acupuncturist and a gangbusters graduate, you cannot fail if you tried; your patients won't let you.
Re: getting closer
Best of luck to you and Pam with your new venture.
