Why do doctors wear white lab coats?  Because they say "science".

OK, I'm double dipping and making a 2nd post for the month.  Please excuse my excess, but I think I have a worthy reason...

Circle CA to raise prices

Davelcorp's picture

Hello everyone.  First let me thank Lisa, Skip, Lupine and all the kind CAN folks.  The time I have spent here mining the forums and blogs for info has been invaluable.  Circle CA in San Francisco has been open for a little over 6 months now, and it could not have happened without everyones help and advice.  Now onto the good news.

Triple Base "Open For the Making Residence" at Circle CA

On Saturday, February 7th, we hosted the Triple Base Gallery "Open for the Making" Residence for Creativity. The residency members arrived at the gallery, and we had an open discussion about Community Acupuncture and the history of acupuncture in the Bay Area. The participants were very excited by the story of Miriam Lee and her pioneering efforts.

It begins with acupuncture

There were two catalysts that led to my realization that I wanted to do a CA clinic.  The first was reading The Remedy (get it and read it if you haven't.)  The second was discovering Tan's Balance Method and Tung style acupuncture.

CAN Flickr group and CCA Grand Opening

We are in the midst of preparing or CA clinic for its opening. During this flurry of furnishing, arranging, re-arranging, etc it has been very helpful to look at photos of other clinics. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of searching the CAN site trying to remember where the various photo-sets are found.

Announcements, and Walking in Three Worlds

Stretch. Crack my knuckles to prepare them for some serious typing. Exhale. Here comes my blog entry for the month. Scratch my head -- what the Hell do I have to write about?

Ever since my last post announcing my licensing, I've been a dried-up well when it comes time to post a new blog entry. Upon receiving the peice of paper from the California Acupuncture Board, I've been in soak-it-up-and-learn-mode, and I haven't had time for opinions or insights. Well, that has recently changed, so watch out -- here's a blog-thingy from moi.

First, the announcement: WE HAVE A SPACE!!!

("we" = Circle Community Acupuncture, in San Francisco)

That's right, after months of looking, rejecting, being lied to, being rejected, etc we signed a lease. We have 1100 sqft of empty space that we a frantically racing around to fill up and prepare for a September opening. We got our first Lafuma today -- $45 on Craigslist!

Oh boy... here we go. Thanks.

Well, what do I say? It's been a while since I've been up here blogging, and a lot has passed.

First, let me explain my absence. In December I graduated from that great loan-driven institution known as ACTCM. At that point I buried myself in a pile of books and tried to digest everthing I learned in 4 years of TCM school. February 13, I went through the institutionalized hazing known as the Califonia Acupuncture License Exam, and spent 3.5 tortuous weeks waiting for the results. Last Friday they arrived -- I passed! Woo Hoo. Now I have the right to pay for a license and become an official acupunk!

Today, I renewed my CAN membership and updated from the Student level to the Practitioner level. Yep, I now have a title.

I promised Skip that once I finished the exam I would start posting on the front page again. So here I am, a few months absent, a week past my official turn, and I'm not sure what I have to say. Except thanks.
